Natural Love
So many people spend so much time trying to fix
relationships, putting themselves (and the ones
they supposedly "love")
through guilt, anger, and unhappiness, when what we really seem to want and need is simple love and
acceptance. As for me, I need a "Natural Love."
Nothin' Better Than This
On the surface, a happy little love song that celebrates the excitement of newly-found love. Underneath, my commitment to continue to believe in love, regardless of prior experience.
All I Ever Wanted
We all have hopes, desires and expectations, and sometimes we need a quiet and safe place to retreat to. When your place of safety becomes a place of chaos, drama, anger and distrust, it's time to go. I finally did.
Time Keeps Tickin' Away
He Said Nothin'
Where You Are
Meant For You
Technicolor Rainbows
Home Is Where the Heart Is
Out the Door
Life is too short for regrets,
and too short to waste. I'm
determined to live it to the full,
not worrying if I make the same
mistake twice, not worrying
whether I'm doing what someone else thinks I should be doing. Life is ticking away, steadily. I'm embracing it completely, and living it to the max, consequences be damned, full speed ahead.
Have you ever wanted to say something to someone, but didn't? I think we all have some "what ifs" and "I should haves" in our pasts. Please, don't miss an opportunity to tell people that you love them (if it's true). Not just your lover, but your family and your friends, too.
Now that I've entered a new relationship, what is it in me that drives me to leave all I know and love and am familiar with for days and weeks at a time in order to play in strange places for strange faces, which is often lonely and sometimes downright frightening? I don't know. What I do know is that I don't care where I am when she's with me.
This was one of the most difficult songs for me to write. I like to please people, and I like them to like me. I'm starting to get over that. In this tune, I call to task the hypocritical people who ask "What Would Jesus Do?" when they evidently don't even know what he DID do.
The world seems so vibrant and alive when you're in love. Everything's exciting and new. The sun is bright, the sky is blue, (insert your own cheesy metaphor here) . . . it's ironic that it's the bright sun, combined with the passage of time, that makes the colors fade.
Another song about a love that burns out . . . this time, it's the white-hot flame of passion that eventually consumes itself.
The last song is funny, yet poignant and full of truth. As my marriage dissolved, it was accompanied by many public allegations and claims, some true, most not. Why did she have to go public and try to turn my friends and family into her allies in the struggle to "fix" me and my problems? F--- you, I'm gone!
